    WILSON – Funeral services are scheduled for Mr. Bob Wilson, 89 for 2 p.m. today, August 9, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church of Wilson with Rev. Sherry Kendrick officiating. Interment will follow with Fort Sill Military Honors at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.

    Bob was born in Wilson March 10, 1920, to the late Mr. Leonard Alvin and Mrs. Essie Dee (Webb) Wilson. He departed this life Thursday August 6, 2009, at Ardmore.

    Bob was a resident of Wilson most of his life. He graduated High School from Madill and went on to play college football at Eastern Oklahoma A&M in Wilburton. He always worked in the oil field and did so shortly before being called up for duty in the Army in 1942. He served honorably during World War II and returned home to Wilson and continued to work in the oil field. He and the former Ms. Lawana Lucille Crabb were united in marriage December 3, 1946, at Coldwater, Kan. They made their home in Wilson, co-owning and operating Wilson Drilling Company until the early 1980s when Bob chose to retire. Bob has remained in Wilson enjoying his retirement vacationing, woodworking, gardening and just spending time with his family. He was a 32nd Degree Mason being a member of the Hewitt Lodge and was always a very active member in the community and the First United Methodist Church of Wilson.

    Preceding him in death is his parents, daughter, Terri Lynn- July 27, 1952, sister, Ione Edgeman, and brothers, Dowell Wilson and Hobart Wilson.

    Survivors include his loving wife Lawana of the home; daughters, Janis Barber of Wilson, and Denise Holt and husband Bill of Lone Grove; sister, June Stewart of Wilson; four grandchildren, Kelly Kinsey, Jason Cox, Amber Gray, and Zane Gray; 11 great-grandchildren, Eric, Dakota, Kelsi, Garren, Katie, Hailey, Kelby, Blade, Austyn, Peyton Luke, and Kaden and 1 great-great-grandchild named Hayden; and numerous other family and friends,
    Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason Cox, Zane Gray, Dakota Kinsey, Garren Gray, Eric Stinson, Blade Gray and Kelby Gray.

    Honorary Bearers will be Bill Holt, Rodney Cole, Joe Bates, Charlie Parrish, Larry Forsythe, L.C. Loving, Gary Whitener and the men of the Methodist Church in Wilson.

    Ushers will be Gary Claxton, Gene Griffin, Bill Mitchell and Jack Richardson.

    Donations may be made in honor of Bob to the Hewitt Bomar Point Cemetery Assoc., P.O. Box 360, Wilson, OK 73463
