Can anyone provide any information/battle records of the Soviet Navy during WWII? Google seems to be giving me the heave-ho so I'll ask the experts here on the forum. Anything would please me, for I know absolutely nothing about the Russian Navy during its entire incident, save the Kursk disaster and the humiliating loss to the Japanese in 1905.
Thank you SovietSniper, that page shall do me well! Tiornu, I wish I could be more specific but I'm looking for anything and everything
iv got a funny story about the red navy in newcastle-upon-tyne. its long though so ill only type if your really interested
You can try tracking down a book called A History of Russian and Soviet Sea Power by Mitchell. It provides a concise survey and is relatively readable.
I shall look for this, I have a book on the History of the Russian Airforce, so one on the Navy would be awesome, thanks. SovietSniper, I would be honoured to hear the story.
If you read Russian Modelist-Konstruktor articles (about certain ships) are also good reference as they give some reference to their combat use: http://mkmagazin.almanacwhf.ru/ You may try also following sites: War on sea (in Russian) - 1st WW: http://www.war-at-sea.narod.ru/index.htm Sea war (English-Russian) some good articles (ww1, ww2): main page: http://seawar.boom.ru/ -Soviet navy 1941 (good articles on small units) http://seawar.boom.ru/WW2/USSR/index.html Soviet - Russian submarine fleet: http://www.submarina.ru/
