I'm looking to unload some books, and wondering if anyone here has had any luck with methods other than Ebay. I just got out of a couple year long Ebay business and frankly, I'm sick of dealing with that whole site. I've also been on the buying end of a lot of books from Ebay and I notice they tend to not go for much. I have looked at a couple of sites, but I want to get some opinions from some others. Probably going to be in the neighborhood of a 100-150 once I sort them out. Not all are WWII but many, also will be WWI, US Civil War, Indian Wars. Do you think it'd be better to try and sell as a whole lot, break down by genres, or sell seperatly? I had hoped one day to wall off my office and turn into a library but as I move on, I realize such things are whimsy and not likely to come true...and I have piles all over the house and the wife is starting to give me the stink eye whenever she cleans or straightens she has to move piles of books. Just thought I'd throw it out here and see what you cats think.

A good way to save space and raise some cash might be to put the missus up on Ebay... just a thought.

Luke, our local TV station did a story about a year ago on selling books. One of the sites they mentioned is this one Cash4Books.net - Sell Used Books. I don't know anything about them, but it's worth a try. You can also try Googling something like "selling books for cash" or some such. Good luck.

I think Wot No Chad's suggestion was in jest, but you never know...It might be something to consider.

As I was puttering around in the middle of the night, not being able to sleep and all, I searched ebay for spouses for sale. Now I couldn't find any and that got me thinking...I could corner the market on something like that. But then I figured that "how much do you weigh" question for shipping might be the death of me. I've decided to try a few of the sites I've found, and I am putting an add in the local paper...going old school. Hopefully nobody buys them. I don't wanna sell. But I also don't want to get dirty looks for the rest of my life.

FYI: Tried out that Cash4Books site. Unless you are super desperate, or really really over loaded with books, forget about it. I typed in about 30 titles, only 7 of them they'd buy, for a grand total of 13.88!! I think I'd get in more trouble for selling them for that cheap than I would for keeping them laying around the house.
