Here are some pictures sent to me from a co-worker...im sure most of you have seen them but i figured what the heck. enjoy everyone ! Sorry theyre so small.
It infuriates me and fills me with sorrow every time I see pictures of Pearl Harbor. It wasn't a battle it was a surprise slaughter. So many young boys gone. While sleeping or praying at the Sunday sermon. I still can't believe another country would do such a thing to us.
BTW how many casualties (both soldiers and civilians - if any) in Pearl Harbor bombing ? we often hear about the ships sunk, but not the people.
Actually, there was more to the attacks on Oahu than Pearl and the ships berthed at Ford Island. The Naval Air Station on Ford was hit with significant losses of aircraft and hangars. Similar losses were suffered at nearby Hickam Field, Bellows Field, Kaneohe Naval Air Station where most of the Catalina seaplanes were destroyed, Ewa Marine Corps Air Station, Wheeler Field where airmen were killed in their tents, and others. There were 2,403 fatalities, including 68 civilians, most of whom were killed by falling U.S. Navy anti-aircraft shells. 1,178 were wounded. JT East Wind Rain by Stan Cohen.
