    I dont do militaria....at all...know nothing...

South littleton auction this am..late notice...But a swastika snuff box in auction, local village auction...had a pow camp here in ww2..I dont want it, but could or coould not be ww2..will try to buy it and see if one of you can give it a good home if you think it is ww2 related...May not be...I'm off to see if it doesnt do silly money...Wouldn't want any profit if it is ww2. Just a good ww2 forum home if it is.

Got it...I'll put a pic up later...Thought it would just be a tin with a swastika on it..It is in fact a circular tub, snuff still inside although only scrapings..German eagle standing on top of Swastika..on top and bottom of the thing...2 bidders...but saw em off..one came up when I got it out of cabinet and said he was unsure what to bid as he arrived too late too look closely...wanted to bid 100 GBP if real and not copy...had a look at it as I got it for 46gbp....Stated it was real..a German ww2 police officer rank snuff box. And said I dont suppose you want to sell it to me now do you....Nope...surprising though...came home with 2 art decco clocks that dont work...an air rifle with sights..and a Don Quixote Spanish carving.....Mrs. is not letting me out again today...

So I'm not the only one! :D

I'm sure I'll get that "what have you bought now" look when I return from the Malvern Military Convention militaria show tomorrow evening.

Who knows what I'll come back with? ;)

Ohhh! I certainly hope so, Martin.

Although I don't think I have a bag large enough to carry all the money to pay for it! :D

Martin, are you not tempted to go to the show at Malvern?

Yes, it's at the Three County Showground in Malvern, Worcestershire.

You could tell your wife your "just nipping out for a newspaper" tomorrow morning. ;)

Unfortunately, Malvern is a two and a half hour drive from where I live in Cheshire :(, but well worth it!

I'll have a problem picking you out from the crowd. :D

I'd say it came from Germany ca. 1936-45 and represented what was known, at the time, as the "Third Reich". ....

Looks very belt buckle-y to me, as in made out of belt buckles. I am thinking late war/ post war.

Possibly pow art . Some Germans sold these to their guards to get better food .
