The Telegraph had issue 1 of a magazine from this series:

    Eye Witness Experience

Each one comes with a free reprint of a WW2 newspaper which is quite interesting!

Anyone know if the telegraph are doing it each week or do you have to subscribe? It looks to be worth the subscription.

    What do you think?

You do have to subscribe. It looks like a good publication, but what I'm always wary of with these things is how many issues it takes to complete it, which I am trying to find out now. At £2.50 an issue after the opening offer on the first 5, it could work out pretty expensive.

There was an ad campaign recently for one of these "build an extremely detailed scale model week by week" magazines, for a very nice looking Lancaster bomber. But on looking at the amll print stating the number of issues in total, and the normal weekly price, it would cost you in total nearly £500 !!!

Aha! I posted too soon. A quick bit of research has jst confirmed that there are in fact 60 issues in total. the first 5 are £1 each with the special introductory offer, then £2.50 each, so I make that a total of £142.50

Which is arguably pretty pricey. although it will build up to nearly 2,000 pages, so may be not....

the facsimile newspapers are interesting, although I prefer to try to get hold of the originals. You can't beat the feel and the smell
