Think? = a war like most other wars - avoidable
Reasons? A+B don't like each other
Aftermath? A+B still don't like each other

    Regards
    Kruska

I think the Russian military interference with Georgian affairs started the conflict.

French certainly disagree..as a consequence of the war/skirmish...France has sold amphibious war ship with more to come to Russia...A massive change in the way of things. And one the Russian defence forces had been wishing for for quite some time. It will be based near Ukraine I believe....More to come...Nato arms Russia...Im falling over laughing...Sloniksp is indeed correct Europe dont seem to agree on this at all.
As an adjoiner...I point out here and now...Im not prepared to die for Lavia, Estonia, Lithuania, Ukraine Georgia or any other state that has a problem with the Russians....Nato membership should not be used for settling old scores with the provision that we now have big brothers to help us out....America should be wary of falling for the old game here and trying to get other Nato nations to see things in the same way....Sorry...but there it is....The question is are YOU prepared to go to war old fashioned heavy war and DIE for Georgia...Im sure our publice would be hoffified if they realised what was happening....

Maybe so. But it might have something to do with the attack on Russian peacekeepers in the Tzhinvali area, carried out by none other than the Georgian military. A pretty desperate attempt to fuel the anti-Russian political fire, and it pretty much failed. South Osetia was granted independence a while back, only the EU and United States are yet to confirm its existence. If Kosovo went down so well, then what's up with South Osetia?

Oh, and there's this video of Michael Saakashvili eating his tie. (Of course, YouTube has no shortage of lovely comments
) But we'll leave that to the nationalists and try to concentrate on the real picture.

Also, this 'horrific act of aggression' sparked up a wave of people wanting the Sochi 2014 to be banned and moved to someplace outside of Russia. Hmm. Yeah. www.revokethegames.com

Thank God the EU saw what was going on...or I'd have gone mental with the amount of anti-Russianism that would have spilled out as a result of a refusal to see things the right way (which again, thankfully, didn't happen).
