OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — A fierce gun battle will be raging in Oak Ridge Saturday, as 200 World War II re-enactors take the field at A.K. Bissell Park to take part in the annual "Invasion of Normandy" re-enactment they perform each year during the 7th Annual Secret City Festival. Sixty-five years after the original jumps by the 101st Airborne Division made way for the Allied invasion of France, the "Five Oh First Group," a Knoxville-based WWII Airborne Reenactment group, prepares for the invasion of Europe all over again. This time, the public is invited to watch. Popular WWII reenactment returns to Festival - Oak Ridge, TN - The Oak Ridger
Haha I go to this every year and reenact. Too bad I was 30,000 miles away this year and missed it. It is a HUGE public battle and a great one at that. My avatar was actually taken of me feeding the ammo belt on the .30 cal machine gun last year. Thanks for the post its a good article.
