A friend of mine is doing research on his uncle. A comtemporary newpaper article says he was the pilot of a B-24 on 51 missions, was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross, an Air Metal with 3 clusters, Purple Heart, and Presidental Unit Citation and flew out of North Africa, perhaps later in Italy.

Is there a way to find his group or unit, it was missing in the newspaper article. He has been trying some air force forums with no luck.

    Many thanks,

    Gaines Blackwell
