Split from "What if Britain was defeated in 1940" theres is another good topic in itself, what if roosevelt hadnt died in april 44 and served another term as president?
FDR was an anti-imperialist and and anti-communist, or to put it in a positve sense, he was a democrat. The post war map of the world may have been quite different, I think FDR would not have looked kindly on the restoration of colonies in asia and he may have been willing to try and take measures to get the Soviets to roll back some of their war time gains.
On the other hand he was most definitely a greater supporter of literal post-war exploitation of Germany. By the way, the decisions to divide Germany and Europe were made before Roosevelt died, so there wouldn't have been much difference.
Somehow, Roosevelt was always very nice to Stalin. One of his first things in office was the official recognition of USSR (first things first!) in 1933. Then, he didn´t object the transfer of whole huge, readymade heavy industry plants from US to USSR. All the great tractor factories which (as every US engineer knew) started making tanks as soon as operational. Then, the L&L that started eqipping USSR even before June 22nd, ´41 and didn´t stop in May ´45 (please check in Anthony Sutton´s "National Suicide"). Then, the strange and abrupt demand of unconditional surrender. Stalin officially objected, but it was actually HIS dream. Then, Roosevelt´s acceptance of Morgenthau´s Plan and of all Stalin´s territorial demands. Was Roosevelt Stalin´s agent or what? Or maybe Stalin was in possession of some compromising stuff on him (which anyway made Rosevelt his agent)? I don´t know. Any ideas?
