I'd say it is Firstly the barrel, you can see the holes along it then there is a slope and more holes. This is the same as in my pictures. Also on yours and the end of gun there is an attachment which is clearly visable and looks like to side cansister on each side. Note the complete lack of technical knowledge here guys  These are also clearly visable on the top picture of mine Finally if you look at my bottom picture, it shows four MG's on display at an air museum and represent various MG's used in german planes. They are all quite distinct and appart from the 2nd one down, clearly different to ours. So whose is it? Where is it and where was it found? FNG
It certainly looks like the one in the other pictures, which makes it the German WW2 Rheinmetall-Borsig MG 131, in 13x64B calibre. Rate of fire around 900 rpm. Replaced 7.92mm guns as a defensive weapon in some bombers and a synchronised cowling gun in some fighters from mid-war on. Tony Williams: Military gun and ammunition website and discussion forum
Thanks guys! Here some more pics and info! The gun was found near Vragender in the Achterhoek near Winterswijk, this is close to the Rhur area. About 400 aircraft were shot down in this area. The Aircraft was found against the "Bult" wich is a hill in Vragender, the MG was found in a farmfield a few 100 Yards back! Here the same pic only with a MG34 barrel, a Panzerschreck, a Mortar and a 88 flak shell.
