I support 48 hour long free parties, preferably in the woods somewhere, speakers the size of a tank & lots of loonies, with nice outdoor sofas to give you an occasional rest when the shuffling about house music's just too much. Not too many evil crusties either please, just enough to add colour.

Not that I see many of those, post-kids... I quite like their parties now, when they're out of my hair for a few hours.

    The worst kind of parties?
Dinner parties... What's that all about?

In the immortal words of Michael Franti:
"A party ain't a party 'till the speakers blown, yeah yeah yeah".

    Or am I missing something?

I don't think I've ever met an ultra leftist that has an interest or even a basic understanding of military history. Many, if not most, utterly despise the military.

Hold on Wolfy. I kind of consider myself on the left side of the spectrum, and I have an interest in military history. Let's not make blanket statements. (Where's Stefan when you need him?)

You don't seem like an "ultra" leftist, though. I doubt that Stefan is, either. I know a few ultra leftists from film school, drama school, etc., my age that are like that. They believe that almost everything conservative or libertarian is evil.
