World War II icon to be razed for concert venue in Costa Mesa

    I suppose they cannot keep eveything, but what seems "worthless" today may be a true heritage tomorrow. Think about that in the 19th century only one vote saved the Chateau de Versailles from being razed because it was too damaged and too expensive to restore the roof.....
    Of course barracks cannot be compared to major monuments, but still it's a shame, maybe movies could have been shot there.

    True, it sounds like there's still hope the building can be saved. As you said we can't save everything but at the very least I hope we do our best to at least document these sites to keep the memories and monuments alive for years to come.
