Greetings. Been checking out the side for the last week and decided to join. Was looking to see if anybody in the past has been to the World War II Weekend in Reading, PA, that is put on every year by the Mid Atlantic Air Museum? Its coming up in a few weeks (early June), and it looks worth it just by what I read. I was just looking for any comments and tips on attending. Anybody been there and have any info? I plan on going as it might be one of the last chances to see and meet some living history as several guests are real life warriors depicted in films like Band of Brothers, The Pacific, The Dirty Dozen (The Filthy Thirteen), and Pear Harbor (members of the Doolittle Raid). Also there will be a member of the Enola Gay and the USS Indianapolis, among others. The WWII planes and battle reenactments look good also. If I make it I will take some pictures and post them here. Thanks. z Guests: MAAM's World War II Weekend Special Guest List Weekend: WELCOME TO THE MID-ATLANTIC AIR MUSEUM'S WORLD WAR II WEEKEND
Hi Zirish, I will be attending the Weekend for the first time with my hubby and we are really excited about it. I'd be eager to hear of any others who are going to be there (sorry I don't have much more to add as I am a newbie to the forum and to the event). -Susan
Hope you have a great time harvestmoon. Unfortunately, Murphy’s Law has again struck for the third year in a row. My sister called last night and informed me relatives who could not make my mother’s funeral the other month are coming in from around the country on the WWII Weekend. Originally it was supposed to be the middle of June, but I just found out yesterday that this was the only weekend most could make it to pay respects and see many family they haven’t seen in decades. I need to host some of them and throw a picnic for everyone. Not looking forward to preparing and hosting big picnics two weekends in a row. I’m beginning to think me and the WWII Weekend are never meant to be.
