I'm going to the airshow at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. My dad is working at the airshow, so I'll be at the show for all 4 days. Also, My family is going to the USAF Museum for 2, maybe 3 days. We'll prolly be there for another day also. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good WW2 museums around Dayton or in Ohio. I know this might be hard because I don't see many members on here from Ohio. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
The WWII 34th Infantry Division will have a reunion this weekend in Dayton. Visitors would be welcome to look around during the day Friday and Saturday at the Holiday Inn North, Wagner Ford Road. We normally have an extensive display of artifacts and records. Look for veterans wearing their "Red Bull" emblem at the air museum and exhibits. http://www.34infdiv.org/tristate/2003info.html
I know of alot of places just next door in Indiana. There is a new ww2 victory muesum in Auburn which has tons of original vehicles includign a marder III.
I just noticed that a WWII Museum is planned for Central Florida (somewhere in the horrible netherworld between Orlando and Tampa). It made me start to wonder how many WWII Museums there are in the USA. I know, of course, of the D-Day Museum in New Orleans and some of the other major museums, but it would be good if we could to develop this long dormant thread and try to compile a good listing of all of the WWII Museums that are out there. In particular, as I am visiting Kansas City this summer, does anyone know of a good museum there? Here is the link to the (planned) Central Florida WWII Museum. Central Florida World War II Museum

Thanks, Steve. I never new there was a Museum in Natick, MA. It must have been dedicated after I left the Bay State. I see that you are in England. I expect you have more WWII Museums per square mile than we do here in the States!
dg, We have a lot of military museums, but not specifically dedicated to WWII - The Imperial War Museum (London, Duxford and Manchester), The Army Museum (London), RAF Museums (Hendon and Cosford), The Museum of Army Flying (Middle Wallop), Firepower (Royal Artillery museum in London), to name a few. In a good many county towns you will find the museum of the county's regiment. Steve W.
