"Police are looking for the owner of six World War II medals found among stolen property uncovered in Brisbane.

The highly esteemed medals include an Africa Star, Pacific Star, Defence Medal and an Australian Service Medal.

Police said they were uncovered during a police raid for stolen property at a Deagon home in Brisbane's outer north.

The name of the soldier who was awarded the medals is inscribed on the back of each medal but police are currently withholding the name.

Police have established the soldier was born in the NSW town of Gunnedah in 1920 and enlisted in Paddington, NSW.

It is believed members of his family may be living in Brisbane."

That's certainly great to hear. It would be even better if tat Vet were still living and could be made a bit happier at recieving his property back.

It is a shame that such people would even consider taking such things for such a man who did so much for them. I don't care what ww2 veterans say about themselves, they are heroes in my eyes and deserve the respect.

It's disgusting what the men and women went through overseas fighting the enemy, they come back home to have medals taken away from them, from a low life that would have have no inclination of the things they have seen or done, and to take it without thinking its disgusting.
