Can anyone recommend any books on Vichy French forces in WW2.

Particularly interested in any engagements with Free French or Allied forces, also the political background to the Vichy regime.

Juoain Jackson - France: The Dark Years is an excellent study of occupied and Vichy France. Quite academic, but a damn fine study. The prequel to it, about the Battle of France, is also good.

Bollotti - Ten Thousand Eyes By Richard Collier (ISBN:1-58574-294-5) is a good book. It mainly focuses on the French Resistance but does talk about Vichy France. There is quite a bit about the Resistance stealing the German map of the coastal defenses. Also talks about secret radios, air drops, battles, exc. Very good book.
