Do counter balance it with reading some of Terry Copp's writing such as "Fields of Fire" or "Cinderella Army". Unfortunately, to my mind C.P. Stacey, the official Canadian historian during the war, did not give the men of the Canadian Armed Forces their just dues in his post-war histories and was heavily influenced by the attitude of the British Military establishment who gave little credit to any of the 'colonial' forces.
