Just a short little post... How is this magazine? Is it at all biased, or untrue, or perhaps very good?

I personally find it to be quite balanced. You do know you can read it online free don't you? Unless, like myself you do like having the "hard-copy" to take with you to places to read in the waiting rooms or something.

    World War II » HistoryNet

Go for it, I enjoy the mag. as it has entries from not just American journalists.

I take it by subscription, as well as Military History. I wouldn't give up my back issues without a fight.

I subscribe to Military History and Civil War Times Illustrated. Two great magazines for the history buff. I used to subscribe to World War 2 Magazine as well, but I let it go when I broke up with my third former fiancée (she subscribed to it for me). I enjoyed it a great deal, and I might pick it back up now. I was also thinking of MHQ (Military History Quarterly) as well.

I dunno, beats me. It's an over-sized magazine, about the size of a Rand McNally road atlas.

I was a charter subscriber to World War II until they changed the format. When the scholarship lost its intensity and became rehashes of known stories, I lost interest. For a long time, though, it was fabulous.

36th no that is not the same as what Manions puts out

it depends entirely on what you are looking for, specific articles or a generalized WW 2 mag which the ones presented fall into

I would put MHQ at "one rung below" the scholarly historical journals, not for quality of material, but because they don't provide citations for their material. (The last time I looked, anyway.)

Okie dokie, thanks OP. MHQ is out. Can't have any wiki-style magazines showing up at the house. Might have to renew my Playboy Special Editions Lingerie subscription instead.

Same here, their special edition about Midway was especially enlightening.

I also like some of their ads :D

Naval History magazine from the United States Naval Institute usually has something on WWII in it. I've subscribed from day one.
