Just started reading Leon Uris' "Mila 18" yesterday, his historical-fiction account of German occupation of Warsaw during the war and ultimately the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943. Has anyone read it / have anything notable to say about it in general (no spoilers please as of right now, I'm still in the process of reading it)?
I read that book many years ago. (I think I was in college). After you finish it, I would recommend John Hersey's book The Wall. I enjoyed it, but now I understand that it is fiction, and needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
A great book, which I enjoyed immensely (along with most of Leon Uris's books) many years ago. Though it is based on history, it is in fact a novel, so don't take it all as gospel.
I recall having read it back in the 80´s and actually I enjoyed practically all Uris´books. Should read again one day...
I have that one as well, I just haven't read it! Will definitely do once I have my full bookshelf back...
I Inherited Mila 18 Book from my Grand Father. I read it in the 80s. It's excellent. Keep Reading it.
