    200,000 Posts!

Wow! Two hundred thousand posts and counting!

It seems just a little while ago that we crossed the 100,000 post mark, and in short order we all heaped another 100,000 on the pile. I never would have thought that this little website/hobby of mine would grow into such a bustling community of WWII goodness.

I really need to thank our dedicated, patient, and knowledgeable OberKommando des Forums team (OKF). I truly couldn’t have done it without you guys. Thanks so much to Erich, Kai-Petri, Martin Bull, Mussolini, Peppy, Skipper, Slipdigit, Stefan, & especially my beautiful wife Trouble. She happily encourages my time spent here, and listens without fail to my long ramblings about Sherman tanks, Georgi Zhukov or how fearsome der PanzerPenguin is. :pzp:

Most importantly, I'd like to thank those WWII veterans that we talk with & about on a daily basis. After all is is for them that this place exists. :poppy:

    Rogue Prizes?

To celebrate our growth I've decided to give the person who made the golden 200,000th post on ww2f.com a 25$ gift certificate to Amazon.com. Why not celebrate WWII with a great WWII book? Congratulations to our Rogue Sloniksp who pushed us over the threshold with this post here! I'll be contacting you via PM to arrange the prize.

    WW2Talk.com Rescue

It has been a truly incredible year for the WWII Network. Not only are we celebrating the addition of another 100,000 posts to the WWII Forums, we are celebrating the addition of a whole new website to our "little" WWII Community. For those who don't already know, on August 27th, 2007, I was essentially handed the keys to truly great WWII discussion board over at WW2Talk.com. When I took control of the site, some people requested I simply merge WW2 Talk into the WWII Forums, but a good portion of the sites' membership wanted to keep going as before (but without the constant sales), and frankly merging was never an option to me. I'm pleased to say that WW2 Talk is now fully member operated and administered, is safely hosted on my server, and most importantly there isn't a sales tag in sight.

    WW2 Talk Prizes?

When I came aboard as the admin of WW2Talk.com she had some 85,000+ posts, and since then she has also grown by leaps and bounds. As of today's date there are some 120,000 posts. To celebrate the growth of our sister site, I am awarding the person who made the first six figure post on WW2 Talk with a 25$ gift cetificate to Amazon.co.uk. Although he didn't exactly do this recently, congratulations to Bodston, who wins the 25$ prize for making the 100,000th post on his site. I'll be contacting you to arrange the prize.

    Onward & Upwards

With the huge influx of members, thousands of new posts, even a whole new forum, we truly are the fastest growing WWII community on the web. Thanks you all for your contributions, thanks to you our reputation for having some of the most knowledgeable WWII enthusiasts is well deserved.

I'm so sorry I don't have more time to contribute as much to WW2Talk as I do to WW2F, but things are so engrossing over here that I don't have any time left to go over there :)

It is great to see the forum grow and soon it will be at the 1/4 million mark.

The best part about this forum is that we have some real WWII vets with us, and that is priceless !

Hey Jeff, those ones in the middle are fakes:D

Thanks for such a great site Otto. I must say If it wasn't for your site I would still be bugging the hell out of my friends with rifle calibers and the RoF for a 5"/38 and other such stuff that only people with genuine interest in the era want to know.
