Washingmachine Post reports that Pedo Pedro has authorized U-Crane the limited use of long range missiles. I guess the neo-cons want WW III before (and if) the malevolent Orange entity is inaugurated. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/11/17/ukraine-russia-north-korea-atacms/
Well someone forgot to tell at least one company from the 33rd NVA Regiment that was engaged in a shoot-out with 4 RAR/NZ, on 21st September 1971. The Battle of Nui Le. Massed firepower was brought to bear against the PAVN troops defending their dug outs, which included substantial U.S. air support: “ Just after 1100hr, air observation and pilot reports indicated that D Company had struck a bunker system of considerable size. Indeed it appeared that it was a complex consisting of several linked systems. The OC therefore decided to put maximum air and artillery onto the complex, and then, if and when confirmation was received from the air that the enemy were withdrawing from the system, the company would advance into and through it in pursuit. Between 1130hr and 1530hr the bunkers were pounded by successions of Iroquois, Cobras, Pink Teams, Broncos and Phantoms, using pintle-mounted M60s, mini-guns, cannons, rockets and napalm. Hard bombs were not used in the early stages of the battle because of D Company's close proximity to the bunkers. But whenever the aircraft went off-station their place was taken by the guns of 104 Battery, so that the system was subjected to almost continuous bombardment. It's worth noting here, in the light of what was to happen later, that throughout the day the aircraft on station over B and D Company totalled seven Cobra teams (two aircraft each), four Pink Teams (three aircraft each), two Dustoff pairs, seven pairs of A37s and four FACS. Between them they expended 967 HE rockets, 120 flechette rockets, 5,300 40mm HE rounds, 143,500 mini-gun rounds, 28 pods of napalm and four 500-pound bombs. 9 Squadron RAAF flew sixteen Bushranger sorties, nine Dustoff sorties and five opdems, and expended 115 HE rockets, 79,500 mini-gun rounds and 12,500 M60 rounds. The guns of 104 Battery and A Battery 12 Field Regiment expended a total of 2,074 HE rounds.” Jerry Taylor. Last Out: 4 RAR/NZ (ANZAC) Battalion’s second tour in Vietnam (p.216-217). —— The author was commanding officer of Delta Company and he also wrote that in May 1971, the D445 Provincial Mobile Battalion was given an estimated strength of 159 all ranks, adding that “morale was still high, and D445 was still active and aggressive.” (p.137)
As a sidenote last year national elections were cancelled in Ukraine, which means that Zelensky was appointed dictator. In South Vietnam with its rigged elections, revolving door of despots, and the military junta likewise shined a spotlight on the hypocrisy of U.S. diplomatic missions. The upshot is that any of our imperialistic shitpit client states can try to pass itself off as a democracy, for as long as its leader is willing to take orders from the White House.
The financial aspect and reasons why they want war (resources, break up Russia) is explained by Martin Armstrong. As an economist, Armstrong met all the players on the world stage. 1 hr long. Mel K & Martin Armstrong | Common Sense & Critical Thinking In Unprecedented Times | 11-17-24
Wish I had an hour to watch and learn something.Could you supply the Cliff notes? Does the author argue the Russian reasoning for Russia to invade a neighboring nation or does it give reasons that justify Ukraines defence of it's sovereignty?
Innovation from the war are Turtle Tanks. Framework designed to hold metal sheets that would provide distance needed to spare the tank from a shaped charge. Kinda looks like Colorado's Killdozer. Here's Colorado home-grown vehicle from decades ago: Turtle Tanks: Since the turrets can no longer rotate, it might be cheaper to build a modern sturmgeschutz/jagdpanzers/Su-85 or Su-100s/Swedish S Tank. It might also be cheaper to build a fake tank with an external metal framed shell with faux gun barrel over a tractor. The vehicle would be used to lure drone operators so they can be droned. Think of it as the cardboard tank dummies over kubelwagens that Rommel used. Like battleships, tanks may be obsolete. Costly and so vulnerable.
Armoured vehicles will still be needed.. and why not put a gun onto it? Aaaand...you're back at having tanks. Ukraine says most of these dont work as the drone can be flown into the spaces not covered...
'73 War of Atonement the Soviet suggested to the Arabs that since the Israelis are prone to charge, let them run into a Sagger ATGM nest. It worked until the Israelis figured out how to take out the SAM sites and then overwatch to suppress the firer fo the ATGM (throw off their aim). Modernly the Israelis lost a lot of tanks to sandal wearing fighters who run up and place a charge on the Merkava. Where is the infantry support needed for built up areas? That was a lesson learned from WW II. Drone operators need to be taken out such that drones can't attack tanks. If there's no DEW (directed energy weapon), jamming system, drone-operator suppression (like another drone dropping a boom-boom on him), what place would a tank have if it can't expose itself without being blown to bits? Be cheaper to lose tracked AFV (infantry carriers) or even obsolee ones just to get the drone operaators to expend their ammunition and to expose themselves. '73 War the Israelis looked for the SAM radar sites/vehicles aand took them out to enable their fighters to operate and provide air cover. War is always changing. Why can't everybody agree to go back to Napoleonic War with muskets and smoothbore cannons?
The anti drone movement is growing...these tanks need better radar to include small objects travelling (faster than a bird) - They need a "small" energy weapon or a scatter gun (shot gun) that is automatic slaved to the radar (much like a phallanx or goal keeper) but smaller. Heavier armour (theres only so much charge you can put into a current drone.) And even anti drone drones...being developed now and have even been used in the battle field - These should be attatched to the "mother tank" - Used for surveillance, close tank security, to push targets into the open and anti drone use. Again these can be flown from inside the tank or be semi autonomous, slaved to the onboard radar. This, i believe would extend the life and usefulness of tanks on the battle field. If we are talking about a conflict like Afghanistan or Vietnam drones wold have a limited effect on the enemy as they "live underground and in caves" - A new drone would be developed for this...Snicker snicker.
I'm thinking super-carriers are obsolete too. Bring back the cheaper MAC (merchant aircraft carrier). ETA: Moscow says xix US missiles were launched and that five were (claimed) shot down. Just another step closer to growing mushrooms everywhere. Joy.
