The first time I heard about that quote, it was 8 divisions...then I looked up more stuff online and most accounts agreed that his 1st Marines destroyed 7-8 divisions fighting out of the pocket. Yes, "Perkele" is one synonym to Devil in Finnish and it is one of the most used swear words in my language. But I originally meant a certain F-word as bad language (it was replaced with another word after submitting). Well, Roel, you might be surprised at how many people care very much about what name they are called by. Peiper was no exception. He was an ardent Nazi, which meant that, in his eyes, "Joachim" as his first name had to go, so he chose "Jochen". And so, historians have used Jochen for the man as well, purely as a matter of logic. Freaking out at me, or someone else, for doing so as well isn't going to change that. And I prefer it when people who disagree with me do so politely, Roel.
