    And you should never use torpedoes once they've reached their expiration date! ;) :lol:

    Maybe. But comedy is forever. US shells at the start of WWII did have an expiration date. Explosive D produced fumes that were corrosive to the delicate mechanisms of the new delay fuzes. I believe that, when the navy made this discovery, they gave guidelines dictating that shells were supposed to be used with six months. Subsequent fuze manufacture sealed the fuzes with shellac.
