Body of ‘unknown’ Enigma codebreaker is going home - Herald Scotland | News | Home News

For more than 60 years the body of a Polish war hero has lain in a Perth grave with few aware of the crucial part he played in the Second World War.

Lieutenant Colonel Gwidon Karol Langer is currently buried at Wellshill Cemetery, next to, but not in, the official Polish War Cemetery as his remarkable role in helping break the Enigma code went untold.

However, that may soon change as moves are underway to transfer his remains back to his home country where he will be buried with full military honours.
