Well what a great result from a little browsing today in one of my perambulations of secondhand bookshops. Apologies if this comes across as gloating, it's more school boyish enthusiasm, but I know it can seem a little odd in a grown man. So found a first edition of "White Rabbit" today, about Yeo-Thomas' SOE operations. Had to bite my bottom lip, pay for it quickly but calmly, before sauntering out casually to rejoice in a hidden corner. But what's so exciting about that I hear you think... It's bloody well signed by the man himself... So I'll stop banging on about my Baedekkers now.
Congratulations on a great find, WNC ! I know just how you felt - it's a great 'rush' when you stumble across a real diamond among the dross......
Ah yes wtid, god is indeed in the detail, it cost me seven and a half quid which is around fourteen bucks for anyone the other side of the pond.
That definitely qualifies as a 'raving bargain' IMPO....just look at the quality of the signature ; no hasty modern-day squiggle......
WOT NO CHAD i salute you for putting one over the greedy secondhand bookshops who mostly rob us booklovers now just where is this shop
It's in Broadstairs, the Albion secondhand one. Funny thing is it's usually a dreadfully over priced place, and often they sweep through their stock putting all the prices up. There's another in the same street run by Sudan Steve which is much better priced.
