or auf Deutsch if you prefer. Bayerische 3te Klass Militär-Verdienstkreuz (I hope the spelling is ok.

Hi U, looking forward to it and mit eis ;-))

I got my first Knights Cross about mid last year and then made a deal with a great Gent in England for a Cased RK oaks, swords diamonds and the spare oaks and spare oaks and swords. Well, I noticed he has more of these for sale including a Star of the Iron Cross-which I want-badly ;-)) Only three of these Stars have come out of the Bundeswehr and I dont know how many were awarded or made but not more than a handfull ;-))

The 1957 RKs are addicting and I want to eventually have 15 of them. So far only two-but thats a start eh? ;-)) One form each end of the spectrum too ;-)) Im thinking of finding two more RKs jsut to add to one of the sets of spare Oaks and spare Oaks and swords. That way, if I get these next spare sets? I can have an RK with each extra grade of the award as well as sets to themselves ;-))

    Heres what I want exactly:

    1) One cased RK w all the trimmings (Got)
    2) Two RKs with the Oaks and Swords (will probably make)
    3) Two RKs with Oaks only (probable will make)
    4) 10 RKs without trimmings. (Got 1 so far)

I might add one more if I can get an uncased RK with all the trimmings ;-))

However, im still 13 crosses less than what I eventually want.

In reality though, I might end up with a total of 5 or so RKs :) unless I get lucky?

I now wished I had started buying these when they were only $50-which was about 10 or so years ago.

Hi Ulrich, thank youi and, boy do I remember how difficult it was to get any ice for a drink. Heck, even the soda vending machines gave you warm cans as well as going to some gas station or convience store-and the drink wa almost at room temperature. I went through hell to get some water with about 1-2 cubes of ice-which didnt do anything. Here-you get a glass full of ice then your drink added-which is what im used to ;-))

As for the Knights Crosses, ill be constantly on the look out for more. These 1957 versions are rapidly gaining in price. Same goes for any 1957 award. The only other 57 stuff I have is one EKII and an Wiederholungsspange for the EKI. Dang long word just to say "Bar" or "Spange".

Same for me Carl, I have neglected medals for along time considering I could find them "easily" and focussed on the Axis allies first . This has allowed me to get some really rare crosses like the Mussert E.K. but know I am having trouble getting the German ones.
