Wow Carl, i wish i would get this many items in my mailbox, whenever i order an item, i just forget about it. But 1-2 weeks later, there it appears in the mail. And then it is Christmas eve all over.
Heh heh, this is a rare event for me as well. Ill be getting more Ators prints of Battleground--and about 30 more pics in teh coming days. Also, as I have a militaria deal going on but waiting for Customs to quit messing around with my package, ill be getting in another and cased 1957 RK w/ Oaksswords and diamonds. Plus the spare Oaks and spare Oaks/Swords combo. After this, I have no idea what I can afford to get?
no other crew members oh shame. say what is in the right corner background shown vertically ? the pic is rather small to gauge sadly.
Nice 20mm Flak-Vierling! Carl, is it the pic out of the second hand car site;-)) Great pic!!! Take care Ulrich
I really like the photo of the PZIVs with the soldiers climbing onboard. I tend to like the real action shots myself because it gives me a better view of what daily life and conditions were like for the grunts on the ground. great photos
note what is at the base of the quad vierling tracks........ thanks Ray note a few important things on the ground covered up by tarpins ~ 1-2 man sighting system also the unit is in a very bad exposed position
Thank you Ray, Ulrich, E and all. E, I agree with Ray, I think they are some cranes of sorts used at some port? I just sent payment today to RW for it so I should know more in about 10 days? I hope it also comes with its news ticker on the back ;-)) I have many more shots like these that have not been posted. Skip and Julio both posted im guessing around 1/2 to 3/4 th the images I have. That pic of soldiers clammering on a tank, is when some PzGdrs were about to go into action 1st day of Kursk. Hi Ulrich, I got this from a photos dealer (as well as most of my pics since last year) froma great dealer in Florida. I was also trying for another shot that had Nebelwerfer tubes mounted on halftracks but lost out at the last minute. I will be getting more in the coming weeks ;-))
there is no doubt that Rick has some pretty incredible access to many German albums and single pics some of which he has no clue what he is selling - more so on his web-site when it comes to the albums themselves I must mention
Hi E, and I also think that he probably gets a lot of his stuff from Herr Menzel od Goslar. That guy had a large room full of nothing but boxes of individual pics as well as complete albums. Just imagine a room about 40 feel long by about 20 wide-large boxes crammed full of pics bursting at the seams, boxes stacked all along the walls, behind counters (which were also stacked full of pics) floor to ceiling-and you will know what Herr Menzel has or had. I wasnt buying loads of images then but wish now that I had bought many from him. I could have picked up individual images for probably a penny to a nicke each at the time-great shots too. Herr Menzel would have been all too willing to get rid of a box of images for $100 bucks ;-)) That would have been probably about 20,000 images.
Hi Carl, it is good to know this pics in good hands! Hopefully we can see your new ones too?! I have the " Schwerer Wurfrahmen 40 am gepanzerten Zugkraftwagen" somewhere in my "Waffen Revue" magazines. Best Regards Ulrich
Hi Skipper, Ulrich, Skipper, thank you my friend. I had Ray post the latest snag which was that Quad 20MM Halftrack. However, I will be trying for more in a week or so ;-)) Oh and when I can get my act together? I still plan on getting all images onto a new photo CD and will be mailing copies out to all I promised them to. I finally got things out to three people here recently ;-)) Ulrich, you aint seen nothin yet ;-)) I have some great shots along with some not so good ones. I now mostly concentrate on pics dealing with famous German generals, action shots, movement shots, funny shots, combat shots and award ceremony shots-and mostly Ost Front ;-)) I do have a few shots which are pics with Americans adn one of a British Desert Rats photo that shows them firing their mortar in the desert somewhere ;-)) Just recently I started collecting pics of Knocked out and or captured Russian tanks ;-)) Oh and Skipper, I dont know for sure what is still available to be seen in my Ebay account but, a few pics not posted I think should still be there? These are of Russian BT tanks and probably some award ceremony pics ;-)) No probs on when you can get thm up for me. I OWE you a lot of gratitude and such and when things settle down around here? ill be getting things out to people whom I owe stuff to ;-)) Ulrich, when life settles down for me hopefully sometime soon? Ill be glad to send you a photo CD with all my pics on it. Ill let you know when I get one made-but most likely will not be for a few months in the least.
Just noticed in the background and jus under the quad gun barrels-a soldier with white helmet standing next to a shack of somekind. Anyway, this got me to thinking and wondering if this place could be somewhere near or possibly in? Sevastopol or somplace like that? I don not think its near Leningrad, but am leaning toward sthe huge Soviet Naval base complexes in the Crimea. I cant wait to get the pic in so I can have it in hand for a better peruasl, as well as a hopeful news ticker on the backside or something scribbled onto the backside? Everything I see, screams 1941 or early 1942-winter of course.
Hi Ray, and im also wondeing if I am correct in assuming they are at one of the great naval ports in the Crimea? It sure does look like it to me, but dont want to say anything more till im sure.
