Well, I think one problem is that there are too many bowls, which means too many mediocre teams get into post season play when they should be at the house watching TV.

Limit the play-offs to the top 8 or 10, and the best of the rest get the bowls.

By the way, if y'all look back to the start of this thread back in early February, you will note that I predicted Alabama would be in the BCS Championship Game this year. Brave prognostication for a Floridian!

It wasn't. Ole Miss is Ole Miss, afterall.

    here again, David, in October.

I hope I can cut and paste this on Jan 8 and substitute "Colt McCoy" and "Longhorns" where appropriate.

Well, Flardee is an SEC team, so I have go with them. Go Gators!

    Your brilliance is astounding.

Woah Urban Meyer just stepped down as the coach of Florida, due to health reasons.

I hope he is alright and it is nothing serious.

A buddy of mine called me on the phone to tell about it. It was something I certainly was not expecting.

Well, the season did not end as I had anticipated it would back in August...it was much better.

I did not expect the Crimson Tide to finish as National Champions, and I am danged happy about it.

I did not expect a Crimson Tide running back to win the Heisman, and I am danged happy about it.

Anyway, to close out the year...

    ROLL TIDE ROLL!

What a great game, and though the score doesn't really show a defensive battle it was a helluva game for defenses to shine. Congrats all you *gulp* 'Bama fans. The best team actually won this year.

I too pass on my congrats to all the "C. Tide" fans, I would have enjoyed the entire thing better if Colt McCoy hadn't been out almost the entire game though. Without him participating (he was the entire Texan offense afterall), I was amazed that the true fresman QB kept the Longhorns as close as he did.

Still a pretty dang good game, but it might have been even more exciting with McCoy in the mix.

It was reported this morning that Greg McElroy broke 4 ribs in the Florida game, during the 3rd quarter. That explains a lot. Apparently they were not fully healed by this game.
