Nato Air Base Sigonella, gettin' some love from Mt. Etna. I was there '72-'75, living on the lower slopes of the volcano.

Ain't got a clue but I'd pay good money to experience some flight time. Dreamed I plopped down $1,500 for a P51 ride last night. Gotta stay away from Tequila.

I'm a nervous flyer (Hey I love planes but I don't like flying in them!) at the best of times...so when i'm in a commercial plane going down south somewhere, the thought always comes to me..."What if another aircraft turned up and started firing on us?" What if an engine suddenly burst into flames?" Answer: I would shit myself to death...to death!

Then I think of the book "Catch 22"...then I wonder what the penalty for going AWOL would be...

Well spotted, CAC, that cockpit is indeed a B-17 pilot's office.

"3,7 cm Selbstfahrlafette L/70 (provisionally armed with the basic PaK) on the chassis of a Hansa-Lloyd HL kl 3 - back in 1935 the Wehrmacht considered fast, turreted TDs of the style that would be later adopted by the US. Underpowered, gun mounted on a central stalk that wasted space, never adopted."
