    This Catholic priest from Dunkirk was shot by the Germans in 1943.

    and this KM sailor died at sea in 1943

    Most interesting. This KM soldier was assigned to a Panzer unit after the retreat of his unit from western France to Germany. He never made it and died in eastern France near Nancy (Lorraine) on October 2nd 1944. He was barely 18.

    another Priest who was murdered with 14 of his comrades by the retreating Gestapo of Le Mans only a few hours before the Americans arrived. Their bodies were found after 5 months only.

    I have a few German death cards in my collection...Pioneer NCO killed at Verdun in July 1916 and an Army officer killed at Stalingrad in Jan. 1943...interesting pieces of war.
