No, it doesn't. However, unsupported derogatory comments, improperly spelled, doesn't help your case.

That is most true. Where were you degraded because of age? I simply pointed out that at your age, you have very little basis for talking trash about any country, or her servicemen. You want to talk sh*t about the French? Fine, come back after your first tour of duty that included training ops with them. Or the Italians, Brits, Norgies, Japanese, ROKs,or Canucks. Then you'll have some basis for talking about them.

Again, I wasn't generalizing all 16-yr olds. I was offering some SNCO guidance to one in particular, who has aspirations of being an officer someday.

Alright, as long as we put down that not all 16 year olds are dumb-ass's and that not all 16 year olds looking to join the military are just after the "fake" heroics then we agree on a lot of things :) I admit i did put it down kinda hard.:(

McRis, point taken. The point that I was trying to make is that America plays a big part in almost all peace keeping operations.

Ricky, I agree that France has contibuted alot to America, and yes they are a 1st rate world power and have been for some time now. One of my points on that was that France has seemed (to me)to have been stepping down in its role of helping to keep the peace in Africa and the middle east.

Tom, as you age you get new life experiences, the one that has affected you the most so far is the sum of your life's experience. And you are right, I shouldn't trash talk France's armed forces because I don't actually have any real idea of what combat is like, I haven't been in it, and for this I apologize.

One more thing, Ome_joop, I pray to God daily that I may. For then I will rest for eternity with the true heroes.

I'd much rather be alive that be dead and a hero,
I think the same goes for most people. I'm not saying that those who die in combat aren't Heroes I'm just saying that I'd rather be alive than dead.

So any answers to the question in context?

(As for the winning the Second Gulf War....can't defeat someone with open force if they're using gurrella tactics and hiding behind civilians.)

Well, the thing is, in Veitnam we were fighting uniforms, in Iraq, we are fighting people who are dressed the same as the local population. We are also mostly just doing patrols, not much fighting anymore, the biggest thing a soldier in Iraq has to worry about is an IED.

General George S. Patton said something like this:
“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.”

But i rather would see No war at all!

    Gurrilas dont always win Example.

Early 1900's Filipino revolt was put down (rather ruthlessly) by the US

Or Malaysia in the 1950s. Or Greece in the late 1940s.

That's what sucks about PR. It doesn't let you conduct a war with minimal losses. I think we should dip to tips of all our bullets in pig blood, or don't do it and just tell them we do. But yeah, special interests groups would go bonkers and we would end up having to give some sort of apology to the muslims.

Nowadays, killing the enemy is okay. We just can't hurt their self-esteem, or show any disrespect based on ethnicity or religion. That would just be bad form.

I heard a rumour that some British commander did this awhile ago(when I saw awhile ago I mean WW1 or possibly before that, when some of the locals became rowdy he shot all the ring leaders with bullets tipped with pigs blood and then burried them with th carcass' whether or not this is true i don not know.

Hahaha, that 16 kid couldn't handle war it's very stressful on the mind and Tour of Duty is worst i just served in Iraq, poor guys were using Molotive Cocktails, Base ball bats and even steel poles, and believe me when you have someone trying to kill you and your in danger it isn't easy.

Some had very cheap AK-47's i believe they were but i'm not sure i think they ranged, and the single shot hurt the most i took one in the chest and it picked me up off my feet and onto the ground, so Single shot weapons pack a lot of punch.

For some reason Iraq people were using American and German weapons, why was that?
