Hi. I don't really know where to post this, so let me know if there's a better place. I've talked to many of you along the way to getting my book, BREAKING THE CODE: A FATHER'S SECRET, A DAUGHTER'S JOURNEY, AND THE QUESTION THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING, published. It came out in November.

I was just interviewed on the website, Women's Memoirs. My publisher has generously donated books for a drawing. I know that all of you are interested in the subject, and have also been so supportive of me and vicariously, my father. So, I'd love it if one of you wins one of the books. Anyway, all you have to do is leave a comment at the end of the interview and you'll be entered to win a copy. My father and I will both sign the book. Books signed by him are quite rare, so it's a great opportunity for someone.

If you haven't been following our journey, here's a little information about the book. It is a memoir about my father, a WWII veteran who began having nightmares and flashbacks more than 50-years after the war, and my quest to find out why. He'd lead me to believe, all my life, that he sat behind a desk during the war. So, it didn't make sense when he started having symptoms of PTSD. Over the course of several years, he finally told me the true story, which involved naval intelligence, top secret code breaking, a traumatic loss, and two of the major battles of the war; Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

So, if you'd like to be entered to win a free double-signed copy of Breaking the Code, simply go to, Memoir writing and leave a comment. I guess I should say that if you'd rather just order a copy of the book, you can do that on Amazon.com: Amazon.com: Breaking the Code: A Father's Secret, a Daughter's Journey, and the Question That Changed Everything (9781402261121): Karen Fisher-Alaniz: Books

Sorry for the loooong post. And Good Luck! ~Karen

I left a comment on the website you mentioned. Thanks for providing that outlet. Best to you and your dad.
