Dresden still divided over blame for WWII bombing

Regardless of your station on the Forum; You need to cite your source for both the Mea Culpa and the photograph you mention. You have thrown more than a few "facts" and allegations around, that are without foundation, which are not only inflammatory but also insulting. Please substantiate your claims before continuing with the discussion or excuse yourself from it as you are derailing the conversation.

 

AMEN to that, and, he now has the lone distinction, of being the first and most likely only person here, who I have, or will ever give, neg reps to more than once.

Oh please....show me an original image on this will ya? This one has been published in hundreds of books including what's-his-faces-crap for book on German Police Battalions and their executions of many of European Jewery. Goldhagen I think is said authors name-an author who had almost zilch in the way of named sources for his diatribe.

Hi Brad, almost ;-)) This guy in fact is a Ukranian in German Police uniform, in one of the Ost Polizei Battalions. Those guys were some of the nastiest and most worst offenders. Goldhagen has this guy listed as a German in Polizei or regular Heer uniform, but if I recall correctly? I think Goldhagen most-and mistakenly so) said that he is an older guy and was "probably a reservist called up to serve in a police unit because he was unfit for combat assignment" or something to that effect? ;-))

Oh and, one thing that does point out to me is that if this guy with the Gewehr is an enlistedman? then why is he wearing officers boots? Goldhagen had that wrong too.

 

Is it wrong to be enjoying this? I laugh every time Jughead nails another to a wall...

What has that got to do with Dresden and such? as well as YOUR sad error in lumping in EVERY German citizen, in with the relative small group of murdering lunitics?

Oh and, I forgot to mention about that pic you posted above. The man could not in anyway, shape or form, be from Dresden because, in fact--he is a Ukranian volunteer for an Ost Polizei battalion, and everyone who knows even an iota of that sad history, KNOWS all too well that they were the worst offenders.

 

And another Dresden thread that goes off track, once again this has been discussed over and over again , points have been made and before some close the line and start getting contreversial I'll close this thread. Please do not settle the score about this in a new one which would be closed immediately and don't bother sending me a PM asking me why I closed this.
