Just wondering who is your favourite historian of WW2? Also who do you think is the most influential WW2 historian? Ross
Interesting question. I don't really have a favorite historian, but I like Ryan's style. I'm willing to bet that he is also the most influential of all popular historians who have ever written about WW2 - whoever else can claim that two of his strictly informative books have been made into all-star-casted films?
I have always been drawn to Richard Overy's work. The first book of his I read, Why the Allies Won, is what really got me interested in history at all. I'm not sure if you'd qualify him as a historian, but Albert Speer's Inside the Third Reich is most impressive historical book I have read.
