It is huge, almost a natural pond! Amazing you can still see it after all those years!

This is the larger one I have found here in the region.
Just few meters behind the road several still lay in sight today. You find them every where along the airbase.

It is still impressive, you'd expect time to take it's toll with erosion, constuctions etc.. but they are still intact.

Nice! Do you know whether these works in Holland were made by the Organisation Todd men like the Atlantic wall defenses in France?

No, dutch prisoners from prisoncamps made mostly all of the hangers etc. near gilze rijen.

Hmm, interesting. It would be interesting to check out whether they were send there under the command of the Todd Organisation. These guys were eveywhere.
Here a link: you will see some amazing Flak towers in modern Austria. Some of these were built by Todd.

Hi Philip, you search in the Oosterbeek/Arnhem area isn't it?
The detector is a XP ADX100.

small world isn't? I'm not specialized in "frying pans" but I'm sure you both know what you are talking about when you describe your detectors. Is it possible to temper or increase the sound volume?

Nope, no problem for me. I know a lot of people in the area here.
They all find it positive. But I'm not telling everyone about it... just the people I know and who are interested.

Good one Nick! Simple ideas are the best. If you ever want to check around my area I know several great spots and I can get permission from a farmer too. One of this guys has a bunch of rifles in a well. He hid them there in 1940 to prevent the Germans from taking them. The well was filled with dirt after the war and the guns are still there. They are probably a bunch of LEBEL rifles

Well it's all a matter of digging ten, twenty or thirty meters deep and it's hard clay too!

and what about a swamp? Is your detector waterproof, or would I need a special model?

The coil can go under water but not the rest.... then you need a special model.
