Aye, we all hope that Mr. Ashley will turn around the culture of the club. When the Halls started out with the 'Geordie Nation' concept, we started building a fantastic culture. Two decades down the road, the culture is as perverted as it can be. The board is looking at the money they can get, and the Toon army still perceive the Toon to be a 'massive club'.

Mr. Ashley made some inspiring points today. Indicating that he wants to 'entertain' us. Clearly referring to the nickname KK's Newcastle received. He has invested 250 millions in the club, and said he would invest more. He also noted that he considered sacking Big Sam as he took over, but decided not to. In hindsight this was a mistake he declared.

The most important issue for the club however is to get a manager that can act in the spirit of the Geordies, so we won't get disillusioned after 6 months.

I don't really think a cash investment is what you need. The problem is fair deeper than that. As I have already said it's a cultural thing which isn't an exclusive issue for the club but does seem polarised for some reason. You need to weed out McKay.

Any at least Big Bung Sam and his crooked cronies have gone. Long live Mark Hughes.

Sir Bobby Robson did great things. He got players who were not afraid to work hard " instead of the big-money star players " and he also got the money situation rather good with his player deals. Unfortunately he´s not able to be back because of the several cancer ops, I think.

Anyone remember " sexy football" man Ruud Gullit? I think he´s at LA Galaxy now.

Roy Hodgson was Finland´s manager for two years and our defence turned stone solid. Unfortunately we don´t have good goal scorers at the moment so did not go far with just defending.

Sir Bobby has been assistant for Ireland I think. Gullit the muppet is not a fond memory. And his transfers weren't all successes.

The money Ashley is talking about is buying the club, and clearing a lot of debt that Fat Freddie accumulated. A new manager will also be entrusted a sizable war chest.

Sorry, my story about Hodgson ended too early...

He´s with Fulham now, but if Roy would be free after the season, would you consider him in any way a serious competitor for the manager job, Jaeger? If the position was open still?

Roy is a good manager, he did well for Viking before the Finland gig showed up. However he would not have success for Newcastle, since the culture up there is highly attacking minded.

Roy, as you said had a good stint with Finland and I'm sure that he will save Fulham from relegation, and given time rebuild the side.

Speaking of mixing up the posts. I meant that Sir Bobby did not hit the nail on the head with all of his transfers.

Gerard Houllier has been given the green light by the French Football Federation to succeed Sam Allardyce as Newcastle manager.

    --------

Interesting choice if he should replace Big Sam...

Sparky is a hot tip, but people say he is off to Man Utd in 2-3 years when Sir Alex retires.

The attacking football that the Geordie crave, doesn't make Houllier a match made in heaven. I recall his dull games with Liverpool.

The Geordies hope for the 'Dream Ticket' with Shearer and Keegan.

Yet another twist tonight as Didier Deschamps became the new bookies' favourite to take over at St James' Park.

    All bets off.

Deschamps seems to fit the bill. Dodgy background (His time drugged out of this world with Juve), no interesting playing style (Cantona's water carrier) and horrible transfers.

Let's face it, the bookies are making a ton on these silly suggestions.

Sir Alan told the press today that if he received a call for help he would assist in any way he could. So the Dream Ticket is actually possible.

Shearer is an obvious favourite. However, he lacks the personally and experience to take the driving wheel at the club, especially half way through the season.

I for one ,would not wish to see Shearer facing relegation at the end of the season. It would break the back of the club, not only finacially but also spiritually.

Hughes is your man. He needs to challenge and he has very strong mind, plus he has a history of buying decent players.

This just in, Kevin Keegan the 56-year-old former Manchester City boss managed who the Magpies from 1992 to 1997 and will return to St James' Park as Sam Allardyce's successor.

Below are a number of quotes from Liverpool and Newcastle United legend Kevin Keegan which is are just a reminder of what the British public has been missing.

Hungary is very similar to Bulgaria. I know they're different countries.

I'll never play at Wembley again, unless I play at Wembley again.

It goes without saying that when you're the manager of a Premiership club, you go eight miles down the road and get beaten by a team two divisions below you, it's disappointing.

That decision, for me, was almost certainly definitely wrong.

The tide is very much in our court now.

This could be a repeat of the final.

I'll just love, I say, I'll just love it if we beat them. Arrrrr.

    Kevin Keegan

Good to see Kevin back in action! I was hoping Alan would be there too to learn for the future.

Well I'm back on my feet and functional. I cannot beleive the change of atmosphere among the Toon Army. A mere week ago it was doom and gloom. We didn't expect to attrackt players of any higher calibre than the championship, but now it's Defoe, Bentley etc.

Keegans standing on Tyneside has not shrinked over the 11 years, and hopefully it will be third time lucky.

Even Roy Keane the Sunderland manager appreciate his return to football. And what's more I think he hit the nail on the head with the following comment: We need his character in the Premiership.

I'll be off to cloud nine again.
    Cheers.

Soon I hope, the way he has treated the fans is appauling. Many life long season ticket holders had there ticket terminated when they refused to become part of the Automatic Cup Scheme. It would of meant that they must buy all the Cup tickets but doesn't guarantee them a ticket if Utd were to get get to a final. It of also also meant that the season ticket costs would be bumped up to a a fee of approx £1000. Quite alot of money for an ordinary work class fan to find, I think you'll agree.

Therefore thousands upon thousands of life long Utd fans have disappeared from the famous Stretford End.

What I find disgraceful is that Sir Alex, one time working class hero and former Trade Union shop steward, said that the fans should shut up and stop moaning. In fact they did, so much so that he has public turned on the new plastic fans and condemned them for being to quiet at games. They obviously don't know the bloody songs or understand they have to sing rain or shine when attending a game.

You can't have your cake and eat it Sir Alex.

Alex Ferguson also defended the club's trip to the Middle East to play in a testimonial for former Saudi Arabia international Sami Al-Jaber on Monday night, a game which will net United a reported £1million.

"The one thing I am sure about is that this trip won't do us any harm," he told The Guardian.

"We're back on Thursday and that gives us three days to prepare for Tottenham (in the FA Cup on Sunday)."

    -----------

How nice! I´m sure the amount of money was not important...??!
