    I did have to do some digging to find the man, but once I found his name in the "list" I realized it had to be him.

    What kinda whisky was Mr Churchill actually drinking and where did he learn the habbit?

    Not the name I was looking for but did find a link that gave Mueller's name so I will accept. My understanding was that the order came from Heydrich and Mueller and Alfred Naujocks organized and carried it out.

    the answer is Colonel E. N. Preobrazhensky, IIRC. He was later a Chief of Aviation of Soviet Navy, colonel-general.
