Thanks for all the reactions you guys! The label with preschona on it was found at the same spot where i found the label with Do 217. I'm not sure of the crashsite i found the piece with number 49 on it though! So i guess it must be from the same plane, maybe those parts aren't specificly for the ME 109.
Well, here you can find a really large list of german ordnance codes: German WWII Ordnance Codes Go there an just scroll down to find the alphabetical and numerical codes as they are known to the author.
They are still there Lisa, but they will take some time to download because of the high resolution used so you could get the details. If you are patient they will appear on the top and go downwards
Oh...i can see them now - last night when I looked, there were thumbnail cells, but all the pictures said "upgrade to blah blah blah photobucket". Just checking them again now, all the pictures are there in all thier large glory! That is so amazing....to find these things...to have an opportunity to find these things. Amazing! lisa
In that case I will quote the late FDR: "Look to Norway!" We have some 500 aircraft wrecks scattered around our country: Luftwaffe, RAF, USAF and russian. Most of them lying in the open (except for a few lying on the bottom of the lakes), so there is no need for a metal detector. All you need is a pair of good quality hiking shoes, clothing and a map! Have your pick: World War II Aircraft wrecksites in Norway If you are a little on the morbide side, you will still find human relics that you can bring with you back home as souvenirs: Ju.52 Digerronden Rondane I grew up close to many of these crash sites, and I used to have some of these relics when I was a little boy, but my mother threw them away when she found them. Welcome to our country! Regards RAM
You where right when you could not se the pictures, due to a limmit exceed of downloding pictures they where not visible for a few days. But now everything is solved! Thanks for your interest!
Can somebody identify plane type, that had call sign 6Z+NP? It served on airport in Vysoke Myto (Czech Republic) on duty of Schleppgruppe 1 (Transportgruppe Herzog) Some photos are here: Gallery Thanks
The tail section on the 1945 pictures makes me think of one of the 15 He-111 that belonged to that unit. Here is a site which tells you which other aircrafts belonged to this group. Schleppgruppe 1
Thanks for reply, but these plates probably aren't from place on mentioned photos (there was wrecks on whole area of airfield and there was wrecks of many types including Me 410, Ju 188 and probably transport gliders Go 242 and DFS 230 too) Is possible to identify plane only from call sign? Thank You
