German Four Engined Bombers ?

Much of that attitude was due to Hugh Trenchard, called by some the "Father of the RAF". How he got this idea into his head is unknown. However, for some time in between the World Wars, this was actually true, as bomber types often were faster than the fighters types deployed during that particular period.
