Spam bots are quite literally the scourge of the web. Constantly scraping sites to collect emails and post in guestbooks, forums, blogs, etc, etc, etc.

It is always best to be discrete with emails, that is why I have my gmail account expresses in an image, bots cant tell it is en email.

There is another message board I visit where Active members is clickable.
Click it, and you can see the search bots "working" there. Search bot Google and YaHoo are the most numerous.

Click 'Quick links > 'Who's online' here and you can see where they're scuttling.
It also works as a handy random thread selector.
    Cheers,
    Adam.

We have the same thing here FramerT, the "Who's Online" function is a very interesting way to see what people and search bots are looking at. Search bots are actually a good thing, because they index our posts and info for easier discovery in search engines. Spam bots crawl websites with the sole intent of finding emails and other contact info to add to their spam lists. Unfortunately they don't label themselves, and only show up as "Guest" I do not allow bots of any kind or unregistered members to view the member profiles. Member profiles tend to have more sensitive info, like emails, or msn messenger addresses, which are usually an email address anyways.

How many have been panzerpenguinised? Time for a [IMG] in gold maybe?

Oh, and final proof that Za can't be a secret commissar, he would have no need for a spade as the ditch would have been made before hand.

 "It is suspected that this user is a sock puppet of Runtshit."

And who says we talk gibberish on the internet?

Weird things he'd been editing, something of a zionist interest? and there seems to be a huge depth of false user id's, certainly seriously committed to being a royal pain in the arse.

(Za's spade is surely a treasured memento of Ekaterinburg in July '18, when he was starting out as a lowly hole-digger?... it's by Fabergé.)

    Cheers,
    Adam.

This is hilarious! Nice find Slipdigit. For some reason trolls like this can't break their habit, it's like an addiction.
They do the same thing everywhere they go, including using multiple accounts.

The PanzerPenguin has been very busy over the years, 25+ people banned or deleted, but der PP is not about accolades, he more interested in justice! ;)

After re-reading some of his posts, I googled his name to see if he was lurking about in any of the other forums, and well, there ya go. Someone using that name is involved in other WWII forums of lesser quality than this one. I didn't look to see if he was stirring the pot in those, it was getting late.

We can't 100% sure it's really him without Otto getting the moderator that banned Wikipedia's Balderdasher to give him the IP address of the user, which I doubt they would and I doubt Otto would ask. but, if it walks like a duck....:swan: (it's a swan, I know. Peppy's too busy defending the world right now to make a duck)

Regardless, it shows astute observational ability on the part of the moderators to perform the full body flush on the culprit before things got out of hand.:pPmp40fire:

It probably is the same guy, he has the same name, the same topics of discussion, the same smell. And we do have a duck Slip :ducky: but this one is rubber, which I think is more fitting for this jackass. Thanks for posting this funny turn of events, I need a little cheering up as I didn't do too good of a job in battle. I took a solid beating. :wail: :shiner:
