Sorry to hijack this thread, but quick question: I had HOIDD and was Germany. I conquered france, Czechoslovakia, and most of Poland(didn't want to waste time getting to France) in record time. I then proceded to fight an air war with Britain in which both sides took heavy casualties, and just for fun decided to invade with 1 destroyer and 6 transports loaded w/ 3 cavalry and 3 inf divisions. I succeeded in the landing because a) they had only placed one division on the quickest and most obvious crossing, b) my air force pretty much dominated the skies by then, but just to be sure, I placed all of my air power over the West North Sea or over the beaches, and c) the royal navy didn't protest. This last reason is the one I was most perplexed about, as the navy was perfectly fine and although I had placed most of my tactical bombers in the west north sea to make sure they didn't come down from scapa flow, they still could have wrecked my invading force with little more than a 2-hour battle. Eventually, I succeeded in taking the rest of Britain within 2 weeks or so, and that's where I am right now. The question is: WTF? I know it was on easy difficulty, but still- shouldn't there have been some sort of oppsoition? Any thoughts?
Well, the forces in Scapa Flow might not have been able to sail down there in time. And against the Easy AI, the opposition isn't going to be particularly good - very pacifist. But you're certainly playing an old game - 2 year old thread, we've all moved onto Semper Fi now
