well here in sunny torquay (yeah right ) on the south west coast we've got a tropical 9 degrees c today, if it were'nt for the p*ssing down rain i would be tempted to venture out
It's a real nice 60F right now. I'm going out and spend some time in the great outdoors, do the daily walk (not when it's blistering cold), and then do a little yard work. Then I might sit in the swing on the patio and read the paper since it is supposed to rain this afternoon a bit. Urqh, that sheep business sounds a bit....coarse! I'll stick to growing peppers.
Finally made it to our retirement location and although it is minus 6 degrees F. (heading for minus 20 tonight), with 21 inches of ice on the lake, I still think we made the right choice.
At about 7:30 PM this evening, it was 66 "F". Today was a wat day with periods of blowing rain. Tomorow is supposed to get evenn wetter.
Haha, so i'm not the only who is happy for the returns of flea markets eh Skip?(Well, the flea markets in this country are mostly right before/after the summer vacation, but it is still good to get rid of all the snow).
I guess you really don't want to hear that it was in the upper 70's / 20's today and nice and sunny...... I was cleaning the pool and worked on my truck some......
Well, at first when they open the gates it doesn't really look like a flea market, it looks more like a marathon, everybody running to get the best stuff first.
I guess I'm with Terry Gardner, nobody wants to hear it was in the upper 60s in Montana, sunny, no wind, and kids playing touch football in the open areas. I washed the cab of my S-10 and will start on the box tomorrow. Got to clean out the crud in the back before I get too carried away!
Gee thanks guys ! High of 28 degrees today. When it hits the low 40's I'll be driving with the windows down again. On the bright side, I hit a golf ball 537 yards this morning. The 20 plus inches of ice on the lake and a stiff West wind makes for a great driving range.
Another great day today, but it only got up to 72F though. The cypress trees are greening up pretty good now, and the oaks are budding out too. I cut the grass last week, and got a chance to smoke a few cigars while doing it. Sat in the swing and sipped a few cool ones without worrying about the mosquitoes dragging me off. That was nice. Ahhhhhh, springtime down South is nice....
A-58, here in Montana even though tomorrow is the "semi-official" first day of spring we don't figure we are out of the "snow" possibles until June. Some of the worst snow cloggers have happened on Easter Sunday for some reason, just to mess up the kid's outdoor egg hunt I suspect. We had 6" of snow one June 18th on the "flats" (not just the mountains), but it only lasted about two days. By that I mean that on the second day it was all gone.
it's been in the high 70's low 80's all week in Northern California (Chico-Redding) lovin' every minute of it!!!
Yes, I remember that type of spring weather. I spent two years in Alaska in the Army, and it was just like you described. The summers there were almost like the winters back home.
70's and 80's ? Rub it in. I just took a 30 minute stroll across the lake (27F). But that's okay. This July and August when it's 115 in the shade in the Great Southwest I'll be enjoying the 70's and 80's you're getting now.
