Yes, Indiana is solidly within the "Bible-belt."
I do remember slipping across the border to Illinois to buy beer--in their state the legal age was 18.
'Course at the time I was only 17.

One of my most enduring memories of Uni was all the American students who couldn't believe their fortune at being legally allowed to drink at 18. Lots of heads down toilets most mornings...

And then when I was in America having to provide ID to buy my host a drink (I was 23 at the time) and it just felt weird... ;)

When you get to be my age, you'll take that as a complement.

Heh, the last time I was asked for ID was last month, I'm 29 at the end of April but it's good to know in some people's eyes that I still pass for around 18!

    CSP, a belated happy birthday.

I'm used to showing my ID, I get asked every single time, seeing as at 20 years old my face is still as smooth as a baby's arse (theres that wonderful word again!)
Never get any problems because In Australia the drinking age is also 18

Course, its not like that ever stopped anyone

White people being a rareity in Jinja(the town I stayed in mostly during my time in uganda) the locals, police and army don't really enforce the law upon us, unless we took pictures of the Nile dam which to them was a big no no
