True, but again Auschwitz is fairly well known and has intrinsic value. I'd wager that most WW2 enthusiasts haven't heard of the Musashi. Sure there might be a collector with very deep pockets out there but why would he be fixated on the Musashi rather than a more well known wreck? If you're going to spend the money to steal from a very deep wreck why not go after a more famous ship like the Yorktown or even the Yamato? I'm not saying its 100% improbably, but I don't see this happening.
You are confusing "black box" (which collects technical data) with a CVR (cockpit voice recorder)...just being a smart ass. Last words are often "fuck, we´re dead" OOps, Auschwitz sign was stolen, thats pretty disrespectful apart from the crime.... Musashi is pretty well known by navy people I guess.
You would think that the Auschwitz people would have learned their lesson back in 2009, when the sign was stolen and cut into 3 pieces for shipment, and safely stored the original away while keeping a replica on the gate.
Probably won't happen, but crazier stuff has happened. Maybe some rich right wing nationalist. Just saying, if it weren't for some of the batshit crazy stuff rich people have already been known to do, you can't just blow off the possibility.
