Ive done some posting there recently but I think its a bit of a quiet forum, not much discussing going on, not with my kind of subjects anyway :(
The UK forum is much more my cup of tea but at the moment it seems to be having some errors :(

I'm going to be helping Otto out with a few things around here, so I decided to read up on the rules and regs...

After thoroughly reading through the WWIIF User's Guide and FAQ, avatars are available after 100 posts, if you are a reenactor, you can have an Avatar custom made by either me or the man of the house (Otto). Medals are awarded based on # of posts, one new one awarded for the following post counts:

    21,
    100,
    250,
    500,
    1000,
    1200,
and then a new one for each thousand after that (2000, 3000, 4000 etc).

It's truly impressive to see so many of you studying and teaching history in such a great way. Military re-enactors are quite impressive, but I'm really blown away by Marloes' work in the oft overlooked civilian living history. Great work! [IMG]

One question marloes; Where is this "UK forum" you mentioned?

    I'll answer that. :D

*Our country is called ''the Netherlands''.

*The people in our country are ''Dutch''.

*Holland is a name belonging to two of the twelve provinces in the Netherlands:
    - Noord(north)-Holland.
    - Zuid(south)-Holland.

*KLM is short for: Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij.
    (English: Royal Aviation Company)
It's the national airline of the Netherlands.

PS: Some Dutch people hate it when English people call the whole country ''Holland''. This is because of the threat that the provinces of Noord-Holland & Zuid-Holland pose to the local cultures of the other provinces. These other provinces have a strong, and often negative, image of Holland and the Hollanders.

Thank you for the information !
Has Netherlands tried putting up windmills to make electric or is there enough of a breeze to turn the large turbines ?

Well, we (the Dutch) originally used windmills to drain water into the sea to create more dry land and to grind various things (especially to create flour). But we never used them to create electricity, the main energy we have is created with natural gas and nuclear plants.
However, we do have a few thousand turbines, which create between 5/8 percent of our total energy. We've build these turbines at the shores of lakes, like the ''IJsselmeer'' and the North Sea because there's alot of wind. :)
