Strange....I answered TA's query about the Falklands yesterday but the post seems to have disappeared?
Thank you for the information on the Falklands. I don't remember the politics of it, just reading about the airwar and how you should "radar proof " your ships before going to war. It would be interesting to see how well a Harrier can do against an old Iranian F-14 in combat. I would bet on the Harrier.
We are going to have to hurry to see the result of that one, the Harrier leaves service any day now (well, it was supposed to last year, but then someone looked at the dates for JSF and Harrier.
I really hate to make a note on this but am wondering what the parlimentary promise(s) are bing made to Iran right now to get the hostages freed. Seems to me the Persian govt needs to be on trial not British soldiers or at least the Persian populace have the balls to overthrow their "Führer und Stab" this is getting sicker by the minute
Totally agree with you Erich. Also, I might add that the under 40 croud in Iran, really seem to hate their current insane leaders. I am hoping that the Persians can again someday, become a country with class; as well as become a part of the world community. All the damned politicians can do, is to start trouble while the average ordinary citizen has to do the fighting and dying.
Where'd that come from? Great, time to kiss goodbye to our folks if that's true. I'd love to know what the options are, either make some stupid deal with Iran and loose face or stand up and loose troops.
Actually this intel came from an Israeli source. Now that its out, its definately not happening, at least not of the 6th..... But I stand by my prediction of a military confrontation with Iran before July.
Ol Vlad and the old gang, really can come up with some very w~I~e~R~d intel these days. anic: Vlad must be recieving all his intel from that pudgy lil dictator wannabe from down South America way - known as: hugo chavez.
I have only contempt for Ahmadinejad and all the simple minded people who say this or that country should be turned to glass.
And it is your right to think that. However, its our right to say how we feel as well. This is all I will say as I really don't want to get started on that foolishness.
That's the way the inner power struggle went, it could have gone the other way. Quite frankly I'd very much like to see the current theocratic layer gone and have the real Iranian people rule. All the reports I get from Iran is that is a magnificent people who don't deserve the leadership they have. A waste, really.
True from what I hear. I worry that it is yet another middle eastern country who will be stuck with an unpleasant regieme for years to come. Incidentally, found a pretty interesting article whilst doing some research for my dissertation, here is as good a place as any: http://www.arts.cornell.edu/prh3/447/texts/Sulami.html
He might get his wish if he is not careful. I do agree, I believe the people as a whole are not what we see in as much the reverse of how they see us westerners.
side note : Tehrans time is coming, I have two friends-pilots with the Israel air force and they are just waiting for the word " GO "
I doubt that word will come. If it does all of us will be buying bycicles like yours because the price of fuel will shoot up 5000%. Details, details...
