DG, VERY well said. I tried to give you a :salute: but couldn't do so-so I tried the rep points-but still have to spread them around a little. When I can either-or both, you got em for this post.

I think it was MY destiny to award 23 points to several Gents postings in this thread. :snoopy:

Cross-of-Iron, I can't salute you or anything because no salutes are yet available to me today. By far, this is my favorite thread that you started to date.

23 pts to snoopy ?? holy crap he will be in the lead Carl !!

destiny hmmmmmmmmmmmm, karma, hmmmmmmmmmmmm sounds like something we debated back in the 1960's and early 70's. surely those that believe in their own creative distance with their own creative juices flowing could change others and the world, Nap and Hitl come to mind along with a few others, though they failed to reshape thier own enevitable outcome which is still and is ........... DOOM !

Personally I think I've heard it all and for me well I give it a great big Bbbblllllllllllllllllllllltttttttttt ~

Heh heh, loved your last line especially. Thanks for the 2nd big laugh for me today. A :salute: is in order when it'll allow me to do so. I'll try points too if it'll let me?

Would saying life's destiny is to die be an oversimplification ?

Life is really a condition attributable to all living things so I think it is more accurate to say that it is the destiny of all living things to day. Life itself, in a collective sense, may or may not be destined to end but every individual life, to the best of our knowledge, must end.

    I like what I see.

Since the whole of your argument is based on the definition of destiny, I think it is better for us to talk about that in particular.

This debate is about philosophy, which is in nature a science. The definition of science is “knowing”. The scientific method is question, observation, hypothesis, test, and revise, respectively. This means that any scientific conclusion is subject to revision. Therefore, your definition is by no means the absolute and unchangeable definition of destiny.

    Science has only two beliefs:

    1. An objective reality exists.
    2. Humans can gain knowledge about the nature of this reality.

What we are trying to do right now is to know. Accepting a scientific law/definition in the belief that it is unchallengeable is the same as disregarding the two principles that make up the foundation of science.

Define your "destiny?" How can you possibly know what your "destiny" is without being able to see the future, which, best I understande, no mortal is capable of doing. You "change your destiny" when you put forth effort daily in changing your "now."

Now, I'm a greatly surprised that I've posted in this somewhat bizzarre thread, so does it change my destiny?

Yes it does Jeff. You have made a choice that has taken you on a different path rather the the one you were originally on. Of course you didn't know what your destiny was in the first place so you still dont know what it is now LOL .:dazed: :meditate:
