    Hello Erich,

I hope you will be so kind and give me some advice in the following matter:

Would you buy the 4 german language volumes by Jochen Prien ( Jagdgeschwader 3 ) or would you buy the 2 Schiffer volumes and wait for the last 2 volumes to come out ? I understand the Schiffer editions are somewhat updated and include some more pictures than the originals in german language.
Thank you for your time and trouble.

    Regards,
    Hollywood Fats

HF I have the GErman language : quite excellent !

Schiffer you will undoubtally pay more and several more photos and besides it is in English if that is your preference. What I have heard though about the Englsih translations is that Schiffer has transferred in the images overall very dark without some clarity so this is a big error in my book. In fact Schiffer has been known for this in the past tranalating other older German volumes to English such as the A/C Podzun-Pallas Verlag titles which they have many many

    cheers for now

    Erich

We've mentioned it before, but quality of illustrations in Schiffer books is their Achilles' heel.

One has to give Schiffer credit for publishing titles which may not otherwise be available in English, but IMHO they're let down by the photos and poor proof-reading.

I have Schiffer titles in my collection but I don't take great pleasure in buying them.
