    Thanks for the information, Takao. It's been a great help.

    My Grandmother was a nurse in the Imperial Army during the war. She spent most of the war in Singapore after it was captured. I asked her some questions regarding Allied prisoners. She did mention that she saw and worked with prisoners during the war, most of them were English, but she never mentioned anything about their treatment. She said after the war, when Singapore was surrendered back to the British, she and her fellow nurses became prisoners, but they continued to work with the English hospital staff in treating the sick and wounded on both sides, and also said that the officers "Were always gentlemen. They would hold open the door for me and say, "Good afternoon, Ms. Mogami."
